Krabi Island Hopping
There are around 200 islands dotted around the Krabi coastline waiting to be explored. Many of the islands are characterised by limestone karsts that rise vertically out of the sea. Some of the larger islands have small sandy beaches or even caves and lagoons. It is easy to hire a local long tail boat or speedboat from the pier to take you on a fascinating day trip exploring the islands, stopping to swim and snorkel around the colorful coral reefs
Railay Beach
Just a short long tail boat journey from Ao Nang you can discover the unique and beautiful Railay Beach. This headland is only accessible by boat, and offers a number of attractions to explore. Tonsai Beach, where the boats arrive has lovely soft white sand to relax the day away and swim in the clear sea water. If you prefer to explore, then walk beyond the beach to the other side of the headland to discover the mangrove forests at Railay East or the eye opening Phra Nang cave, a very memorable stop on your tour of Railay.
Rock Climbing
Whether you are a total beginner or an expert rock climber you can experience the amazing climbing on the huge cliffs at Railay. Krabi Shell Cemetery
Also known as Susan Hoi, this archaic petrified shell cemetery is considered to date back 40-25 million years. The cemetery came into being after the limestone deposits in the water covered and fossilised shellfish, snails and a variety of other sea creatures creating slabs of intricate geological relics. The shell cemetery is located around 7 kilometres from Ao Nang and is of particular interest to those interested in geology.
Krabi Town Walking Street
This popular night market in Krabi Town is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening from 5pm to 10pm at Soi Maharaj 8. The market is a great place to browse the clothing, souvenirs, bags, handicrafts and wide range of products from around 50 vendors. Try the authentic street food while you are there and sample the real taste of Southern Thailand.
